Folks probably won't even stream this album, let alone purchase it, but it is nevertheless quite an accomplishment. When you were 18/19 y/o, did you have any albums out? We, 8th Plague, have brought a work of art into existence and that is what is important. To anyone that can respect/support that: much love. To those who cannot: much love. Any recognition is not the purpose or even overall goal. Hip-hop like other art forms must be done for the sake of itself. Only then will it reach its maximum value. Furthermore, this album explores different aesthetics: those of the past and those of the present. While it possesses an underground hip hop sound, it also has some mainstream sensibilities. This of course is the result of a group of individuals with different styles and life experiences; it is illustrative of the duality of all kinds of music. With this being said, some songs will not appeal to the hip hop heads; some will not appeal to the listeners that are our age.
